The annual DataCite Estonia Consortium’s Open Science event “Open Science and Data Management – Mandatory and/or Useful?” took place on the 5th of May at Tallinn University of Technology.

The main target audience of the event was scientists, young scientists, and scientist-supporting specialists. The presentations were divided into two parts: in the first part, an overview of best practices and experiences outside Estonia was given: in Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, and England. In the second part, Estonian universities introduced their services aimed at researchers to facilitate their scientific work.

The event took place on-site and online, allowing nearly 200 people to participate. The working language was English, allowing also foreign scientists working and studying in Estonia to participate. The presentation slides can be found here.
