PlutoF

PlutoF

Large biodiversity datasets are today created within cooperation projects led by international work groups. PlutoF offers data management services to the teams of such projects, as well as to citizen scientists, museums and private collections, and research institutions.

PlutoF allows to manage the whole life cycle of a project’s data, from planning to the publication and archiving of data in a machine readable format, in one and the same web application. Datasets can also be published over the Global Biodiversity Information Facility GBIF.

PlutoF functions also as a data repository. Most of the data can be linked to the files uploaded to the repository. Images and videos can be linked to observation areas, observations and surveys, specimens in different collections, citations in literature, institutions, persons, and project information. Repository helps to manage sound files, DNA sequences, digitised notebooks, etc.
